What information we store
Toppers Zone stores only the information needed to run your account, deliver purchased content, improve learning features, and comply with law. This page summarises the main categories — see our Privacy Policy for full details.
Account data: email address, password (stored as a secure hash, never plain text), display name, account type (student, teacher, affiliate), and optional phone or WhatsApp numbers you provide at registration.
Profile & signup details: school, grade, board preferences, and optional extended signup fields for affiliates or teachers (e.g. organisation, date of birth where collected).
Learning activity: chapters viewed, MCQ attempts, scores, competition entries, revision bookmarks, and progress indicators used to show your dashboard and history.
Purchases & access: order references, amounts, coupons applied, and which classes, subjects, or chapters you have unlocked. Payment card data is processed by our payment partner; we do not store full card numbers.
User content: feedback on notes, Q&A posts, competition responses, and support messages you send through forms such as Contact Us.
Technical logs: IP address, browser type, device category, and timestamps for security, fraud prevention, and debugging — typically retained for a limited period.
Email & notifications: verification tokens, password-reset links, purchase receipts, and service emails related to your account.
Affiliate & referral data: if you join our partner programme, we store referral codes, attribution, and payout-related records as required for the programme.
Cookies & local storage: session tokens, theme preference, and similar client-side values needed for login and basic site functionality.
